White Chrysanthemum Wreath

The white chrysanthemum wreath is the most culturally traditional sympathy format in Singapore — particularly at Chinese funerals, where chrysanthemum carries specific mourning weight that lily-based arrangements don’t fully substitute. It is the format most expected by the family, most read as “correctly appropriate,” and least likely to be misread across cultural contexts.
This portfolio item is our standard chrysanthemum standing wreath. Stems: white spray chrysanthemums (dominant), white single chrysanthemums (as focal points), white Oriental lilies (optional — we’ll include or omit based on the family’s cultural preference), muted trailing eucalyptus or Italian ruscus for softness, and occasional accent stems of white lisianthus. Scale: 4 to 5 feet standing on easel, 1.2 to 1.5m wide — the common-scale standing wreath, appropriate for colleagues, friends, company gestures, and extended family.
The chrysanthemum-heavy palette is deliberate. In Chinese tradition, chrysanthemum (specifically white) carries funerary association in a way that’s quiet, dignified, and culturally precise. Many older SG families strongly prefer this format over the softer lily-based arrangements that younger mourners sometimes choose. When the family’s cultural expectation is traditional, this format reads as considerate in a way a mixed-stem arrangement may not.
The ribbon inscription follows the same convention as our other wreaths — white or ivory grosgrain across the front, with the sender’s name and a short sympathy phrase. For Chinese families, we’ll discuss whether to inscribe in English, Chinese characters, both, or neither. The inscription phrase matters: “May he rest in peace” is common but not always appropriate in non-Christian contexts; “沉痛悼念” / “永垂不朽” / “音容宛在” are traditional Chinese alternatives, each with slightly different register. We’ll brief the difference if it’s useful.
Delivery same-day to all SG parlours with morning-service or afternoon-service timing. Direct install at the parlour — we don’t leave wreaths at the reception. For companies and community organisations sending multiple wreaths for the same service, we can coordinate ribbon inscription consistency and arrange the wreaths into a visually-coherent lineup.
