Wedding Florist at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore
Heritage architecture, marble floors, and ballrooms built for statement florals.

The Fullerton Hotel is Singapore’s most architectural wedding venue — the marble, the columns, the neoclassical detail, the ceiling heights. It rewards florals that work with that register rather than against it. Here’s our florist perspective on what works at The Fullerton and what to plan for.
The Venue Character
The Grand Ballroom
The Fullerton’s signature ballroom — 1,700 sqm, capacity ~800, double-height ceilings, marble columns. Florally, this is a space where scale matters. Centrepieces under 80cm tall disappear. Floral installations need to reach the architecture to feel in scale.
The Post Bar & Ballroom Lobbies
Cocktail reception spaces — beautiful but intimate. Florals here should complement without crowding.
The Town Ballroom
Smaller, more intimate option for 100–200 guest weddings. Easier to scale florals in proportion.
Outdoor Spaces
Limited — Fullerton is a heritage building, not a garden venue. Consider other venues if you want a garden ceremony.
Floral Considerations
Match the Architecture Scale
The Fullerton’s Grand Ballroom is the clearest “scale up” venue in Singapore. Florals that work:
- Ceremony arches — 3m+ to relate to the architecture
- Centrepieces — tall (100–130cm) or low-and-dense (30–40cm); never 50–80cm (visually awkward at this scale)
- Ceiling installations — the room invites overhead floral work; if budget allows, this is the most dramatic choice
- Entrance florals — scaled to the grand staircase / lobby
What doesn’t work:
- Dainty garden-style bouquets — get lost
- Low floor-level arrangements only — insufficient for the space
- Budget-scaled scope — the venue demands more
Palette
The Fullerton’s colour language is creamy white, gold, warm brown (wood accents), and soft pink (in the carpeting of some ballrooms). Palettes that sing:
- Ivory + gold accents — classic, photographs beautifully against the marble
- Blush + cream + soft champagne — fills the warm tones without fighting them
- Restrained white-on-white — works because the architecture itself provides texture; no need for florals to add more
Avoid:
- Cool palettes (grey, cool pink) — clash with warm wood and marble
- Full tropicals — out of character with the colonial architecture
- Very dark / jewel tones — compete visually
Logistics
Fullerton’s location on Fullerton Road means:
- CBD traffic during late-afternoon install windows — plan for it
- Vendor access via loading bay; security check-in required
- Ceiling height means ladder / scaffold work needs to be arranged and staged early
- Breakdown windows are strict — end-of-event, no overnight
We typically arrive 4–5 hours before the first guest for ballroom setup, with additional crew for ceiling installations.
Natural Light Isn’t a Factor
Unlike garden venues, Fullerton’s ballrooms are artificially lit. Florals need to photograph well under warm ballroom lighting — generally means avoiding cool-tone palettes.
Investment Ranges at The Fullerton
| Scope | Range (SGD) |
|---|---|
| Ceremony + small ballroom reception (100 guests) | S$15,000 – S$28,000 |
| Grand Ballroom wedding (150–250 guests) | S$22,000 – S$45,000 |
| Grand Ballroom with overhead installation (300+ guests) | S$35,000 – S$70,000+ |
| Full-venue styled flagship | S$60,000+ |
The Fullerton’s Grand Ballroom pulls budgets higher than most SG venues because the scale genuinely requires more floral material to read well. A S$12,000 floral scope can look right in a smaller hotel ballroom but will feel underweighted at The Fullerton.
The Overhead Installation Question
The Grand Ballroom’s ceiling height is the single defining feature of the venue. Overhead installations — floral chandeliers, cascading arrangements above the head table, suspended arrangements above guest tables — are what differentiates a Fullerton wedding from a standard hotel ballroom wedding.
Budgets for meaningful overhead work:
- Single head-table suspended — from S$6,500
- Full guest-room overhead installation — from S$18,000
- Full-venue overhead + structural elements — S$30,000+
If this is in scope for your wedding, plan accordingly. Overhead installations require:
- Rigging assessment by venue engineering team
- Scaffold access during install
- Specific install timing before tables and chairs are set
- Structural engineering sign-off for heavy installations
Your florist should be comfortable with all of this. Ask for references of past overhead work at hotel ballrooms.
Working With The Fullerton’s Events Team
The Fullerton has an established events team with clear protocols. Our approach:
- Work to the venue’s install and breakdown windows
- Provide risk assessments for overhead / structural installations
- Return the venue to its default state promptly after event end
- Use the venue’s power and water carefully (minimal impact)

Fullerton-Specific FAQs
Is The Fullerton a good venue for couples on a tight floral budget?
Honestly, not really. The venue’s architecture demands scale, and under-budgeted florals read as out of place rather than minimalist. If floral budget is Can we do a floral arch at the ceremony and move it to the reception?
Yes — this is a common budget-efficient approach. We dismantle and reinstall between ceremony and reception. Adds ~1 hour of labour but saves buying a second installation.
Can ceiling installations be installed day-of?
Mostly yes for smaller installations. Full-venue overhead installations usually need pre-event day installation if the venue allows (Fullerton sometimes does for Fri weddings installed Thursday night).
Do you work with The Fullerton’s wedding packages?
Yes. Some Fullerton packages include floral allowances that we can work alongside, handling the specific installation or bridal party pieces.
