Floral Arrangement 101: Beginner Bouquet Class
A 1.5-hour hands-on floral arrangement class for beginners. Learn professional bouquet-building technique in our Paya Lebar studio.

Floral Arrangement 101 is our foundational hands-on workshop — a 1.5-hour session where you learn to build a hand-tied bouquet from scratch using professional florist technique. No prior experience needed. Everyone leaves with a finished bouquet and the ability to repeat it at home.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of the session, you’ll be able to:
- Select flowers by purpose — focal flowers vs. supporting flowers vs. texture fillers vs. foliage
- Prep stems correctly — trimming, de-thorning, de-foliating, conditioning
- Build the spiral grip — the core technique every hand-tied bouquet uses
- Balance proportion and colour — understanding composition in flower arranging
- Tie and present — finishing techniques, ribbon work, wrap
This is enough technique to confidently build bouquets for everyday occasions — birthdays, dinner parties, personal gifts — without needing further guidance.

Who It’s For
First-time couples looking for a creative date
Genuine alternative to dinner/movie nights. Couples typically leave with two bouquets — one each. Great for anniversaries, birthdays.
Friends / hen parties / small groups
Private sessions of 4–8 people. We open the studio for the group, customise palette preferences, and run the session privately.
Corporate / team-building
Small teams (up to 12 with 2 facilitators) can book private sessions as team-building activities. See our corporate team-building workshop for details.
Solo learners
We run mixed-participant sessions most weekends. Come solo — there’s usually 4–6 other participants.
People prepping for DIY wedding florals
If you’re planning to DIY your own wedding or event florals, this session teaches the core technique you’ll need to scale from.
Session Structure
First 15 minutes — Introduction & Flower Walk
We introduce the studio, the session format, and walk through the flowers we’ll be using. You’ll learn to identify seasonal flowers and understand their structural role.
30 minutes — Technique Demonstration
Our senior florist demonstrates the full bouquet-building process — stem prep, spiral grip, proportion, tie-off. Interactive, with Q&A as we go.
45 minutes — Hands-On Building
You build your own bouquet with guidance. Mistakes are welcome (and instructive). Our florist walks around the table for individual coaching.
Final 10 minutes — Finishing & Take-Home
Wrap, ribbon, photograph. You leave with your finished bouquet and care instructions.
What to Wear
- Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting slightly wet (flower arranging is damp work)
- Closed-toe shoes — for safety when handling stems
- An apron is provided

What Past Participants Say
“Left with a bouquet I’d have paid S$200 for at a florist — plus the confidence to do it again. Worth every dollar.”
“I took the workshop as a birthday gift for my partner. It was the best date night we’d had in a year.”
